October 1 - Bumps in the Road
Head off early towards Diablo Valley College, and good thing, too, since, when pulling into A&A, the car dies. The good folks at the station give the vehicle a jump, and the hope is that it will be possible to limp back to local Firestone (dicey even as an idea, since twice they have not diagnosed what is by now pretty evidently the alternator). But, no luck, die again just beyond the Travis onramp to I-80 Northeast.
Quite a din of traffic, yet get through to AAA and reasonably soon a tow truck arrives,
loading the
forlorn auto onto the flatbed, and
ooping back to the
office / repair shop.
Abandoning the means of transportation to tomorrow's repairs, hop an Uber back to point of origin (both rides driven by educated, friendly folks),
borrow Harriet's wheels and still in plenty of time to rendezvous with the
Pleasant Hill Music Historians for basics Baroque and
Quiz 6 on same towards evenings end,
on the 179th day of summer, high up 6 to 77...
